LMSTEN motif. This region of Myb proteins has previously been described as the transcriptional activation domain present in the vertebrate c-Myb and A-Myb, but neither vertebrate B-Myb proteins nor Myb proteins of invertebrates. Because vertebrate B-Myb (but neither A-Myb nor c-Myb) can partially complement Drosophila Myb null mutants, this region appears to have been a relatively recent insertion.
