  Domain Name: V_A-ATPase_A
V/A-type ATP synthase catalytic subunit A. These ATPases couple ATP hydrolysis to the build up of a H+ gradient, but V-type ATPases do not catalyze the reverse reaction. The Vacuolar (V-type) ATPase is found in the membranes of vacuoles, the golgi apparatus and in other coated vesicles in eukaryotes. Archaea have a protein which is similar in sequence to V-ATPases, but functions like an F-ATPase (called A-ATPase). A similar protein is also found in a few bacteria.
No pairwise interactions are available for this conserved domain.

This domain occurred 3 times on human genes (4 proteins).

Tips:
If you've navigated here from a protein, hovering over a position on the weblogo will display the corresponding protein position for that domain position.

The histograms below the weblogo indicate mutations found on the domain. Red is for disease (OMIM) and blue is for SNPs.

Functional Features are displayed as orange boxes under the histograms. You can choose which features are displayed in the box below.
