  Domain Name: STKc_LATS
Catalytic domain of the Protein Serine/Threonine Kinase, Large Tumor Suppressor. Serine/Threonine Kinases (STKs), Large Tumor Suppressor (LATS) subfamily, catalytic (c) domain. STKs catalyze the transfer of the gamma-phosphoryl group from ATP to serine/threonine residues on protein substrates. The LATS subfamily is part of a larger superfamily that includes the catalytic domains of other protein STKs, protein tyrosine kinases, RIO kinases, aminoglycoside phosphotransferase, choline kinase, and phosphoinositide 3-kinase. LATS was originally identified in Drosophila using a screen for genes whose inactivation led to overproliferation of cells. In tetrapods, there are two LATS isoforms, LATS1 and LATS2. Inactivation of LATS1 in mice results in the development of various tumors, including sarcomas and ovarian cancer. LATS functions as a tumor suppressor and is implicated in cell cycle regulation.
No pairwise interactions are available for this conserved domain.

Tips:
If you've navigated here from a protein, hovering over a position on the weblogo will display the corresponding protein position for that domain position.

The histograms below the weblogo indicate mutations found on the domain. Red is for disease (OMIM) and blue is for SNPs.

Functional Features are displayed as orange boxes under the histograms. You can choose which features are displayed in the box below.
