POSTDOCTORAL POSITION in Computational Biology available immediately at the Department
of Biological Sciences, University of Maryland Baltimore County (UMBC), to develop computational approaches for the detection of protein domains and their interactions
and to understand the molecular basis of diseases. A Ph.D. in bioinformatics, mathematics
or related fields is required. Candidate should have a strong background in mathematics
and excellent programming skills.
Potential areas of research include the assessment of the performance of bioinformatics
methodologies and their role in the developing of new methodologies. The candidate
will work in close collaboration with scientists at the Office of Science and Engineering
Labs, Center for Devices and Radiological Health, Food & Drug Administration.
Successful candidates will have affiliations both at UMBC and the FDA.
